EL GARD

A premium product. EL-GARD (EG) means Level Guard. This is an electronic equipment, which maintains water level of your overhead tank by switching on and off your water pump, automatically. Once the equipment is fixed to the pump, it works as a sincere watchman for years to come automatically and free of cost.

Range of EL-GARD Models

EL-GARD has many models to suit any site condition. There are models even to suit single phase submersible type pumps, hydro-pneumatic pressure pumps, compressor pumps, combination of regular and stand by pumps, etc. In case the well has lower yield then, we have a special controller interfaced with programmable real time based timer.

General Working of El-Gard

Water level Indication

EL-GARD is an electronic equipment, which is designed to sense and indicate normal value. The water level in your overhead tank and the sump. The level is indicated on Dry Run Protection the front panel by the LEDs.

Automatic Switching on and switching off of the pump

The sensors fixed in the tank and the sump keeps track of the water level and corresponding signal is sent to EL-GARD unit through the sensor cable. The machine processes these signals and switches on the pump as soon as water level in the overhead tank tails to minimum. Water starts coming into the tank and water level slowly rises. When the water level reaches maximum in the tank EL-GARD senses that the tank is full and turns the pump off.

Features

Reserve Water At your water tank

The minimum level will be normally fixed at half of the tank. This ensures at least half the tank of water in your overhead tank as far as electricity is there. This works as a reserve storage for you in the event of power failure.

Sump Empty Protection

When the pump is running, incase the water level in your sump falls to the foot value level, the pump will be switched off immediately and the cut off light glows on the sump diagram. The pump remains off irrespective of the water level in the overhead tank. Once the sump starts filling up and the water raises to the restart level, the system restarts the pump 10 fill up the tank. Cut off sensor will be fixed approximately one inch above the foot valve and restart sensor approximately six inches above the foot valve.

High / Low Voltage Protection

If the mains voltage is harmfully low or high, the pump will be immediately switched off and the voltage condition will be indicated on the EL-GARD panel. The pump gets restarted only when the voltage comes back to the normal value.

Dry Run Protection

When the pump is switched on by EL-GARD, if the pump is not filling water because of air block or foot valve leakage or any other reason, the pump will be switched off and dry run indication glows on the panel. Also, hooter (optional) will start giving an audio signal till the pump is set right.

Additional Features of EL-GARD

Trigger Push Button allows you to use EL-GARD in semi-automatic mode. This is very useful when you want to store maximum quantity of water in your overhead tank for some reason like:

  • We know that there will be a long power cut.
  • Water supply would not be there the next day.
  • Water is now coming to your sump and you want to ensure that your over head tank as well as your sump is full.

To use this feature, press the TRIGGER push button once. Immediately the trigger on indication glows on the panel. Unless your overhead tank is already full or your sump is empty or voltage level is very high or low, it switches on the pump. The pump will be switched off automatically as soon as the overhead tank becomes full. In this mode all the protective features will be fully functional.

Advantages

  3. By sensing the water level, it prevents overflow and prevents you from running out of water.
  4. In case, if the water level in sump falls to foot-valve level, or air-block problem at foot-valve, it stops the pump immediately. This saves your pump from dry run.
  5. Cuts off pump during fluctuating electricity.
  6. Prevents wastage of water.
  7. Regulates flow of electricity to pump hence enhancing the life of the pump.
  8. Checks electricity wastage and helps saving electricity.
